About Laura TK
Laura TK is never bored. A self taught artist, she constantly draws inspiration from everything she encounters. She has always been fascinated with the beauty in nature and with trees in particular. One of her oldest memories is of learning that a tree's roots can spread as far underground as their branches do into the sky. At a young age she was told that "there is no wrong way to do art", a sentiment she continues to embrace in her adult life. She especially enjoys creating new things out of old; transforming recycled materials and found objects into jewelry. With a focus on sustainability and durability, her current interest is in gathering bike tubes that have already had a whole life on the streets of Portland, Oregon. By cleaning, handcrafting and pairing them with complimentary components like real gemstones, vintage chains and unique color-finishes, she upcycles them into wearable art.
