The 4-leaf clover is recognized as the symbol for LUCK. Perhaps this is because they are so rare. It is believed that there are approximately 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover. And only one five-leaf clover in a million.
Some folk traditions assign a different attribute to each leaf of a clover. The first leaf represents hope, the second stands for faith, the third is for love and the fourth leaf brings luck. The even more rare fifth leaf represents money, sixth is fame and seventh brings longevity.
Since I started collecting 4-leaf clovers 5 years ago, I have found almost 350 four-leaf clovers, almost 50 five-leaf clovers and even a 6-leaf and a 7-leaf clover. I have photographed all of them, but have only kept only a select few, giving most of them away to strangers or friends and leaving them to grow. But the ones that I have collected, I have decided to frame or bottle up their magic. My hope is that they will find their way into homes where they can inspire LUCK to the beholder.
